To uphold the highest standards of double-blind peer review, the identities of our active reviewers are kept strictly confidential during the evaluation process.

Reviewer Profile & Expertise

Our reviewer database consists of active researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals who meet the following criteria:

  • • Academic Credentials: Hold a minimum of a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in relevant health science disciplines.
  • • Publication Record: Demonstrated track record of publishing in Scopus-indexed or reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • • International Representation: We actively maintain a diverse reviewer pool, with experts from Indonesia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, ensuring a global perspective on health research. “
  • • Ethical Commitment: All reviewers are required to adhere to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

Standardized Evaluation Process

To ensure consistency and fairness, all reviewers evaluate manuscripts using our Standardized Reviewer Evaluation Form. This rubric assesses:

Methodological Rigor

Study design, sampling, and statistical validity.

EQUATOR Compliance

Adherence to STROBE, CONSORT, PRISMA, or CARE guidelines.

Ethical Integrity

IRB approval, informed consent, and data availability.

*Reviewers are strictly prohibited from suggesting citations to their own work unless absolutely critical to the manuscript's context.

Annual Reviewer Acknowledgement

While we protect reviewer anonymity during the active peer-review process, we deeply value their contributions. In accordance with best practices of leading academic publishers, Health Frontiers publishes an annual "Thank You to Our Reviewers" editorial in the final issue of each year, publicly acknowledging the experts who dedicated their time to maintaining our scientific standards.

Reviewers are also encouraged to claim their reviews on the Web of Science (formerly Publons) platform to build their academic profiles, and we provide official digital certificates of appreciation for every completed review.
